Braves pitching had been amazing in the post season. They have pitched 40 innings and have only allowed runs in 3 innings. 37 shutout innings. A big part of that is from the Braves bullpen. The Braves bullpen pitched 17 2/3 innings and only gave up one run. Their pitching continued to dominate in today’s game. On the mound for the Braves was their rookie who has been amazing this year. RHP Ian Anderson who had a 1.95 ERA in 2020. In his postseason debut vs. the Reds he had 6 shutout innings while picking up 9 strikeouts. Today he was just as good. He pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing 0 runs and striking out eight. Ian Anderson continues to prove his worth to the Braves organization. The Braves are known for their offense and not their pitching but today that is not what happened. Their pitching was phenomenal while their offense did not do very much. They got two runs on two solo home runs. One by Travis d’Arnaud who hit a three run homer yesterday and one by Dansby Swanson who hit a two run homer yesterday. This helped lead the Braves to a 2-0 win and a comfortable 2-0 lead in the series. Thank you for stopping by. I agree Braves pitching has been outstanding. But why? Is it just random luck? High stakes motivating outstanding performance? Reds/Marlins choking? Others’ brainpower (on which pitcher is used when, which pitches to throw…)? Appreciate your thoughts on this.
