Atlanta Braves 5, Los Angeles Dodgers 1
Today was the start of the National League Championship Series. Otherwise known as the NLCS. The winner of the NLCS moves on to the World Series. This is a seven game series. Both teams had their top pitchers on the mound. The Braves had LHP Max Fried pitching for them while the Dodgers had RHP Walker Buehler pitching for them. Max Fried had a 2.25 ERA in 2020 while going 7-0 and Walker Buehler had a 3.44 ERA. 4 out of the 5 games the Braves had played were shutouts. They were looking to carry that dominance into tonight’s game. The Braves got their offense starting quickly with a solo homer by MVP candidate Freddie Freeman in the top of the 1st. In the 2nd Adam Duvall pulled his oblique and exited the game replaced by Braves top prospect Cristian Pache. Duvall will be out for the rest of the NLCS and will likely be out for the rest of the Postseason. As for the Dodgers they got their first run on the board with a solo homer by Enrique Hernandez to tie the game in the 5th. Finally in the 9th the Braves offense sparked. It started with a 448 foot homer by Austin Riley, then a RBI single by Marcell Ozuna, and a two run homer by Ozzie Albies. This helped lead the Braves to a 5-1 win to give them an early lead in the series up 1-0. Thank you for stopping by.
